You know, in a way, I think Sauron does at least *admire* her… in the same way, mind you, that a craftsman admires a fellow artist’s talent. In this case, the fellow artist being Ilúvatar/God, and Galadriel being one His most beautiful creations. So he is truly in love with her beauty, you could say, in a way. As he is with Beauty in general; he did start out as an artist, after all. But trust me, this does NOT mean that he respects Galadriel as a person in any way😅

I know you guys have been debating this for days but to add my 2 cents - I don't think he truly loves Galadriel because he is incapable of understanding what love is. He has absolutely no idea what a romantic relationship is all about and see the world only in terms of what will benefit him, like a complete malignant narcissist. That's the only reason he wants Galadriel. Having said that...the pairing is hot as hell. Don't mind me while I indulge the fantasy.

I dont see this scene as violating lore really (and this is a billion dollar fanfiction, so why care?) Sauron is manipulating the feelings of this she-elf by comparing her to her more famous counterpart. Its like saying, "For a moment, you looked like young Jennifer Aniston" He does not love, but he will use other's emotions to exert control. Smart!

He’s manipulating her. She just disappeared and saw his dark form. When she reappeared she was distressed. Now he is trying to control the situation and use flattery. Look at her face after he compares her to Galadriel. All elves knew who Galadriel was.

Ugh the title of this video. He is saying this in order to flatter and beguile this female Elf, to win her over and make her easier to manipulate later on. He is saying it because she see’s it as a great compliment. Not because “he misses Galadriel” to the point he see’s her in another elf woman
