Teach your daughters to play. The more young girls who learn from a young age and are supported by parents, that'll do it. Don't blame society. I say this as a woman. My father taught me to play and gifted me a marble chess set when I was young. I didn't have a passion for it but I've always loved and played it recreationally. I'm in my 30s and I do not know many women who were ever taught. I have a 5 year old daughter and she knows the basics but she doesn't have much interest in it and that's ok. The love for things like that comes well before society pushing anything on us.

I think part of the problem can be seen by the choice of picture used at the start of the video to represent women who play chess.

getting better female players is easy, you only need more of them. The m/f ratio in chess is easily 100:1 so you can't expect women to be at the same lvl as males. The reason that China and the USA win more medals at the Olymics than everybody else is not because they are more talented is because they simply select from a bigger pool.

In my opinion there is no need of seprate women's section in any tournaments in chess they can play in opens section and play against male opponents because here you don't need any physical power here you have to show your tactics and thinking skills so yes I think they can participate in opens match

Has anyone done any studies on this by actually asking girls/younger women why they stopped playing chess? This would be my starting point.
