Such people are generally ignorant, lack self - esteem, and are resentful of anyone who is happy, confident and intelligent, because it reminds them of everything they're NOT. It's like they feel threatened by you. I used to let people like that get to me, but now, I feel like not being liked by them is a badge of honor, because if they don't like me, I know I'm still o.k. as a person. When they START liking me, that's when I'll worry about what kind of a person I am.

I discovered this is true while in AA. I wouldn't play their sex games, so they started gossiping and slandering me. The reason I was so disturbed is I'd never been part of a group of people like that. The AA book talks all about how we are supposed to put principles before personality but when they thought they had me they attacked and accused me of being what they are, a bunch of sex addicted perverts, I'd say about half of them were, there are good people in AA, but a lot of a holes.

People like to judge, and they judge as if they're the judge of the universe. True. And everything Sam said, true.

And we have all been through that, and some of us have been through that more than others. Even the people doing the judging wind up on the receiving end of it. Then all of a sudden, they want to complain about it happening. After they, themselves, dished it. They like to dish it, but they can't take it.
