2$ bills are still easily accessible and still in production. We've just been trained for decades that it goes 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100. 2$ doesn't really fit in the norm of our brain sociologically speaking, making it less circulated in places like stores. People also think they're insanely rare, which isn't the case which makes people spend them less.

In Mexico they made 50 MXN bills, the problem is that they have a beautiful axolotl print and many people keep them for the same reason, they are quite rare now xd

My great grandmother grew up during the great depression. Every birthday, she would give me a $2 bill. I still have all of them. She would also buy packs of socks and divide them up, 1 pair for each of my uncles and a pack of dish cloths one for each of my aunts. It was so practical and we all looked forward to it

there is 2000 yen bill in Japan which is hardly in circulation and some young people don’t accept it because they’ve never seen the bill or go ask the supervisor to check 😂

My grandpa told me that back in the day, two dollar bills were for the racetracks for horse races and dog races, but they eventually quit using them because people would mistake them for 1 dollar bills when they went to the stores.
