The Canadian psychologist Jordan B Peterson says there is a "backlash" against masculinity and "a sense there is something toxic about masculinity".
He told Hardtalk's Stephen Sackur: "There are biological differences between men and women that express themselves in temperament and in occupational choice and that any attempt to enforce equality of outcomes is unwarranted and ill advised as a consequence."
Mr Peterson is a professor of psychology at the University of Toronto and author of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote for Chaos.

We must protect this man *AT ALL COSTS*

One of the few voices of reason in this confused society.

I love that "equality of opportunity" vs "equality of outcome". Excellent point that will really get someone thinking.

I suffered from depression for a long time. Once I started taking accountability for my decisions, focusing on physical health and avoiding vices things changed. Constant self improving gives you value, makes you masculine, you know your worth. Everyone notices. Always treat others with respect, be humble, embrace failure, never stop. God bless

Staggering how many people can't decipher the difference between equality of oppertunity and equality of outcome.

I've literally never seen an interviewer so intent on debate, that he moves on as soon as Jordan responds to find a new angle of attack. Its so disingenuous its stressful to watch. And it's terrifying that this kind of thinking can exist in large public media

Damn this is like art. The way the man conducting the interview asks questions in such a sneaky way to where it forces the other guy to process the question/ extremely carefully, then respond quickly while making sure that his view is at all times not being misrepresented but also not come off overly defensive. The amount of practice those things probably take

JP: "I don't support men being angry at women achieving equality"
BBC: "So you think men's resentment is MORE IMPORTANT than women's equality???"

Jordan: “If were going to discuss my views we should use my actual words.”

I love how he never hesitates to correct someone when they twist his words on something he has said in the past.

Let that sink in.

This whole interview is one of my favorites. Jordan dismantles the interviewer throughout the interview in a calm and dark manner.

This entire interview is simply

“you say -”
“no I don't.”
“ok, you have said -”
“no I haven't”

I appreciate BBC giving Jordan a fair shake to say his peace, despite trying to put words in his mouth.

I love watching jordan peterson. I have never seen someone so consistent and so confident of what himself said or written or expressed. He is such a firm believer in his own capability and never gets emotional in these types of interviews. He reminds me of a rock that endures time and never really changes

Interviewer: So you have said [Something JP never said]
JP: I didn't say that
Interviewer: Oh, anyway...

Dr. Peterson is one of the most misquoted persons in the past decade. Interviewers keep saying he said something he didn't. His logic is undeniable on all points, so far. Thank you, Doctor!

Every time Professor Peterson quotes some facts the interviewer doesn't like, he changes the subject
