Just drop the “Mustang” out of the name and market it as the Mach E!

I dont know why so many people are hung up on the name. I own the mach E GT Performance. It dosent say mustang anywhere. it just has the horse everywhere. The name was a marketing cue. the next version of it will probably just be called the mach-E. As for driving it. we all look for smiles per gallon this car may not give you that but it does give you smiles per kilowatt. it is fun to drive it handles well better than most mustang. you can leave cars and coffee and not take out a few onlookers. Im happy with the purchase.

Me not seeing a Ford badge on the car makes me think the mustang name will be boutique like in the future similar to Lincoln having its own dealership. I’m down with it.

Lol you described perfectly what it feels like to get in a stang it’s hard to imagine a EV creating those same feelings of a traditional mustang

Clearly a sporty electric SUV that’s going to win Ford a much-desired chunk of the electric (Tesla) market. AND they used the Mustang name, with Mustang styling cues. Yes, there’s a future for this car…and fortunately the traditional Mustang will be around for a (short?) while. 😀

I don’t think they needed to use the mustang name to sell the Mach-E. Using an iconic name on a product people don’t identify it with has rarely worked for anything. I’m all for an electric mustang but it can’t have more than two doors. Ford has had many hugely popular vehicles over the years that didn’t use the name of another vehicle.

I look forward to getting an electric car because it seems fun and easier to own BUT...I also look forward to the rest of my time in my 2021Camaro. I know I'm a trader or whatever but I just like cars, whichever one speaks to me at the time. I think there is room for both EV and gas and I'm excited to get to own both. In the future, they won't get to and that's kind of sad for them.

Great video. Great analogy at the end. I think the.proper name would of been Mach E . Without the 🐎. With that being said if I could afford even the non GT I would get one. All that saving on gas means more parts for the old 2v !

Guys we have to enjoy what we have now. The party is over we lived through a great time in automotive history .

I think it’s a great car and that Ford did an outstanding job on it but I just can’t get excited for electric vehicles. I love the drama and theatrics of internal combustion engines way too much. Very cool vehicle tho esp for the money.👌🏽

That was great content! Great explanation! I'll still take my 2013 shelby gt500! Waiting for a 2 door monster to compete with the tesla!

At least you we're honest about how you really feel on evs in the end part. Props man for being real. 😎

My opinion? Get a tesla model 3 for a daily it's the most American made vehicle by parts content on sale today. Not to mention the best selling ev worldwide. And it's made here in America by Americans. Runs on American energy nobody had to kill anyone else over.

It's faster even in the slowest rwd trim than an ecoboost base is. Gets over 140mpg.
Drive the noisy inefficient smelly toys at the track&on the weekend. For as long as you can that is.

Like old school movies we loved as a kid and now as an adult, when Hollywood tries to remake those films we feel robbed or betrayed. This Mach E is for another generation not those who love the classic. I find certain people look down even on non V8 Mustangs, those who have a eccoboost or V6 saying they’re not Mustangs either so I’m not surprise people feel the same about the look or EV with the name. Me personally it’s a matter of choice and I will respect my other mustang’s even if we don’t share the same opinions.

Great daily and family vehicle but I'd stick with my whippled 10R80 Mustang GT for weekend fun that's for sure (Aussie S550 owner).

I recently said this in a comment somewhere else but here is my opinion. The Ford Mustang is the longest running American car name plate. There was a concept in the 60s for a 4 door Mustang and it was never produced, there is a reason for that IMO. Mustang is a pony car in fact the original pony car. A pony car is a compact muscle car. They were launched and competed to be a high power to weight ratio coupe or fastback that performed well in the 1/4 mile as well as in autocross. They were sleek with unique body lines and had great special packages like the GT350 GT500 and Mach1 or even the California Special. From 74 to 93 they lost some of that. Sleek and unique lines went away and economy took over. It started coming back in the early 90s and the redesign in 94 but with the New Edge in 98 to the S197 and of course the S550 Ford has reacquired the essence the Mustang had lost. That brings me to the MachE. I don't dislike the car or the concept but IMO Ford is throwing away all that heritage the Mustang built to just throw it at the next big thing. It cheapens it. I would have rather they simply called it the Ford GT-E or keep the MachE plate and have an option package called the MachE GT. Another option since they brought back the Bronco, stick with the horse theme and call it the Stallion or some other horse breed or name to stick with that theme but the name Mustang is taken. Another option would have been to bring back a hatchback style like the Fox Body with the same S550 nose and tail but with a larger green house and back seat and only 2 doors. The problem I have is that it's a totally different car. It's not a unique body style Mustang, it's a different car with 3 bar vertical tail lights. If they want to call it a Mustang, put the same fenders and hood on it, put the same or similar front and rear bumpers on it and just change the doors and cabin.

The MachE for me is not a Mustang, it's just a Ford EV with a stolen name.

Typical, out-of-touch Ford management. Leave Mustang out of the name. Had they just called it the Mach-E, I don't think they would be embroiled in such controversy. I am more upset that they made a Mustang SUV, than I am angry that there is a Mustang EV. In terms of tech in the EV world though, they are at least 5 years behind Tesla. It is a nice car, but Ford's dealer network (so far) has shown no real desire to support it. They are going to make less money on maintenance and service over the years, so I understand their point.

That mph is hard to swallow at those power numbers my 3v traps 107 na. Clearly the instant torque is why it hits 12s
