It didn’t start on October 7th. Hamas charter was created in response to the Israel response to occupy and refuse to implement Oslo for free independent Palestine state. Hamas only killed soldiers during October 7th, it was the IDF that got caught unprepared and what they can only do which is kill civilians. Hamas is not inside mosque, churches, schools and hospitals so Hamas is not using civilians as humans shields. It’s IDF that are using civilians as target to pressure a deal. Israel lost.
