I had someone once tell me that Obama wasn't a US citizen because Hawaii isn't part of the United States. When I mentioned that Hawaii indeed was a state when Obama was born there, I was told "well, history wasn't my best subject." Yet still felt compelled to insist that Hawaii isn't a state. 🙄
