If Taiwan fall, electronics probably never will be the same.

Macron said - its an asian affair.

India's foreign minister rightly said that “Europe has to grow out of the mindset that europe's problems are the world's problems but the world's problems aren't europe's problems"

I absolutely love how any wars in Europe it wasn't just a European problem, it was also an American problem, and the rest of the world for that matter, but now that it's not a European problem, it's not a European problem.

"It's an Asian affair and France shouldn't get involved"

That's about the most European thing ever. Unless the roles are reversed then they complain that the world doesn't come save them (again)

Sounds like a WW3 situation with a repeat in history dating back to 1914

Well, it actually also kind of is a European problem, due to Taiwan's semiconductor industry. The world would quite literally come to a halt without their chips.
This country is crazy important, also for Europe.
So whilst Macron's statement is understandable, it is also a bit shortsighted.

Macron has just dropped France at the bottom of the microchop priority list

Europe would 100% back Taiwan. They know it’s important

It would help strengthen America’s position if NATO brings Taiwan into the fold. And for all America does for NATO, they should absolutely allow it

As someone rightly said... European problems are the worlds problem and problem of others are none of European interests

The fact that the us is taking advantage of this situation. There is a difference from attacking and BEING attacked.

Macron saying that is so ironic because at the both world wars OTHERS helped France

It's a bit complicated. I'm not sure if Article 5 can be implemented when Nato-country independently decides to attack China in Taiwan or defend Taiwan from China. I think it can be only used legally when a Nato-country is directly attacked. Someone can of course correct me if my information is wrong. And if that's the case, that of course doesn't mean that some european countries wouldn't intervene if China decides to invade Taiwan.

How will Europe respond? Its simple. They'll call them bigots.😊

That's kind of sad considering the scramble for help in Europe right now, that NATO would ignore someone else's problem.

The Secretary of State said the U.S. will not support Taiwanese Independence.

I think that article 5 doesn’t technically need to be invoked if a country was being reckless/doing something morally wrong or is the single aggressor, kinda like if Turkey were to go behind NATOs back and just invade Armenia for no reason, also I heard when India invaded GOA Portugal wasn’t helped with that.

Though I wouldn’t see this as the case here it could be a weak argument for European countries to not invoke article 5 since it is not US territory and we don’t have a formal alliance with Taiwan, it’s kinda a grey area
