The fact that a ship weighing 100, 000 tons can move 35mph is mind blowing

Let us ALL hope Infographics isn't right about this scenario as Infographics has been with every Ukraine war video

I also would not discredit the Japanese military getting involved in a Taiwan war with China. Taiwan gives them access to the South China Sea and into the Indian Ocean. So the dangers of allowing Taiwan to fall, in addition to losing the semiconductor hub, would make Japan commit forces alongside the US (we have a Defense treaty similar to NATO) and since Japan is arguably a top 5 military in the world, it would make China’s fight for Taiwan a lot harder, especially since Japan is not known for having their morale broken once they are committed to war

After watching Russia's performance in Ukraine (a country that it shares a massive land border with) I don't think China is making a move on Taiwan yet.

The Taiwanese military itself needs some restructuring. There need's to be an entity similar to the National Guard in the US where skilled professionals like Pilots can still maintain their flight readiness even if theyre in their 40s, 50s, 60s. Right now there's a firm retirement age where these pilots are forced to retire and can no longer keep their fighter jet qualifications. Forcing the most experienced pilots to retire does not seem very smart.

When discussing the highest POTENTIAL for their BEST tech, just remember Russia...

You can have a handful of showpieces that sound good on paper, but fielding large numbers, providing adequate support & logistics, proper training, & experienced command matters FAR more.

US has been actively using much of these advanced aircraft & fine tuning their logistics operations for years now. They have much more practical experience too. We also know they don't have just a few show pieces to "wow" other countries... they actually use them.

I would not trust any specs or on-paper capabilities of Chinese aircraft as anything remotely comparable to their US counterparts, despite what they "potentially" could do if allll other factors somehow are up to par.

Russia spends even more money on its own military, but they are already scraping the bottom of the barrel to recover losses, and they don't even have a sea border to contend with!

As an Indian I don’t think India would allow US to use India's airspace to attack China, unless China is not in a direct war with India. We are having some skirmishes, thats how China is problematic for us, but we can't invite a full fledged war with China and we don’t want that either. However, US has it's good old friend Pakistan beside us. Because PAK is a known friend of China also- so may be for that reason US tried to be friendly with India. But after RUS-UKRAINE war US seems to become annoyed with India. Unlike many european countries India is not loyal to America. Historically America never had a good relationship with us and we do not depend on US. Except 60's Sino-India conflicts America never stood with us. Interestingly during 1971 both US and China were against us and US were threatening India directly the way they are threatening China now. Had there been no Russia India could never win that war. As common Indians we are neutral about America. America tried hard to push us against China. This is not happening clearly. If US wanna start war with China, let them, don’t try to drag us there.

People in the world need to understand how important it is to defend Taiwan against China

Actually, @Infographics Show, the USN did a few studies on making smaller carriers outside of LHAs and similar vessels, and they all concluded that for carriers, the current Nimitz/Ford class carriers are more effective than a multitude of smaller carriers, for these large carriers with nuclear plants have a far higher endurance than their smaller counterparts.

In addition, the USN still remembers the Enterprise Debacle when Congress balked at the pricetag of the USS Enterprise (the first CVN in US service) and forced it to use smaller conventional carriers (which were _less effective_ than their larger nuclear-powered counterpart).

One thing that almost no one talks about is that there's a MAD (mutually assured destruction) aspect to this, though a non-nuclear version. Yes, China would eventually destroy everything in Taiwan, but Taiwan is unlike Ukraine in that they have ballistic missiles capable of doing great damage to Beijing, Shanghai and other cities. This damage is estimated to be somewhere near 30% of the Chinese economy (not counting sanctions and the cost of the war). This price is too high for Red China to pay.

I noticed that he said “F-18 Hornet” which is incorrect, the navy no longer uses the Hornet they now use the more advanced Super Hornet. I do believe the Marine Corps still use the Hornet but it is being replaced by the F-35, same with the Super Hornet but it’d a very slow progress with the navy.

Flying with extra missiles does not necessarily compromise stealth. If you fire off the non-stealthy, but very long range, missiles first, you become stealthy again, and enemy missiles will be fired in vain, as their targets suddenly disappear, wasting the enemy missiles.

So basically we need more Mavrick type pilots
