I suppose the important purchases for student will be... in software. But what software to recommend - depends on the platform. And actually there aren't many things to recommend - good software is known, most of new software that has mobile versions - you know, the "serious" software for tables and phablets - isn't all that great compared to the desktop versions.

I think UE boom (not the megaboom) was the better portable speaker.

You reuploaded this so there wouldn't be two "threes?" like the previous video?

1, 2, 3, 3, 5!

Lol. No.
1.) Popcorn Time (Free movies)
2.) Decent Headphones (don't bother my roommates)
3.) Tablet? No. Laptop that has a real keyboard. (For note taking)
4.) Mouse? I use the Razer naga epic (for productivity. I have a button that switches tabs in my browser)
5.) PS4? Really? No backwards compatibility? Either go with PC or XBOX 360 or PS3, (The games are a fraction of the cost)

This is a joke right? Most of these things aren't close to being necessity, as well as counter-productive -_-"

he is all wrong. the 5 best items is starting with a strong laptop/ tablet. the Microsoft Surface pro 3 or the Surface 3 are great devices that run full Windows software and can use Microsoft Office. 2nd would not be Bose by any means but the Ultimate Ears Boom or MegaBoom. They are a bit pricy but they are both waterproof and have a battery lasting 12-15 hours. Their sound fills a room and is on par with the way the song was made to sound. Not super base filled like Bose speakers. I like Bose they just aren't the best. Instead of getting a roku and PS4 get an Xbox One instead and do more. With the included Mira cast dongle the xbox One can make your second screen in your room have content that is from your PC. you can duplicate the image or extend it as a second monitor. Having a surface pro 3 or surface 3 will eliminate the need for a second tablet which will save you money. The Logitech mouse is a great choice but the one listed in the video is one of their most expensive models. Us college students are not that rich. I am not sure who chose this list but it is truly awful. You will also want a kindle paper white because eBooks are way cheaper than the print edition and it is way lighter. On a kindle you can highlight and take notes just like a textbook. You can even search for words and text to keep from reading an entire chapter, which saves you time. Last maybe an external battery to power up those items for days on end because your best study spot might not be near an outlet. So here's the list:
1. Surface pro 3/ Surface 3
2. Ultimate Ears Boom/ MEGABOOM
3. Xbox One
4. Kindle Paperwhite5. An external battery

"Mom, I NEED a Roku AND a PS4... It's for school... The guy on CNET says so..." ...Then, once you've spent all your money on toys, meet all the other trendy kids at the SU building to whine about tuition fees... Pffft!... Start looking at the bigger picture and get over your entitlement to convenience; good things come to those who have the patients to attain them!!...

This video was funded by Roku, Bose, Google, Logitech and Sony! And apparently according to CNET, you can get your degree much easily by using these so called "Uni Gadgets"!
