Hey team welcome back to the sweet science, your go to channel for everything the beginner boxer needs.
I had a really interesting question about weight distribution so we’re covering that in todays video
Everything begins and ends with your boxing stance often overlooked as a beginner and without going into specialist types of stance and guard there’s 3 main types of stance you should be using and understanding why your using each one.
Forward stance, weight on the front foot, best used either for aggressive or counter fighters.
Balanced, 50/50 weight distribution, best used for movement , setting up angles, range finding/control.
Rear stance, weight on the back foot, best used for power shots or powerful counters.
Being able to seamlessly transition between the three , knowing what and why your trying to do someone is essential for levelling up your boxing.
If your new to boxing or not long into your journey you are probably not paying enough attention to what your feet are doing and where your weight is distributed for what your trying to achieve.
It might seem like a boring subject but I promise, get this right and watch your skill level rise massively

You made the video! Awesome, man! I learned a lot! Thank you so much! I've been practicing your 5 exits video and stepping out with the rear leg is quite natural. But when I try to step out with my lead leg after a 1-2, I feel like its stuck against a curb. It just halts. I was carefully watching you work the bag and I was wondering how you do that step? Do i have too much weight on the lead leg? Thanks again!!
