To-do lists are great as they free your mind from thinking about what you need to do soon or next… You don’t have to worry about forgetting or to remember anything as all is on the list. Then you can decide how and when to complete the tasks. Of course, it’s very helpful if you work without unnecessary distractions and then even the to-do list can be finished… (especially at work it should be finished)…

I always felt that to-do lists are not effective. This makes so much sense, leaving the space to flow with your creativity and productivity. Beautiful!

This works to a certain degree for me. I unknowingly implement this at work and can get most things done. But if I am told I need check on this 2-5 days from now. I am likely going to forget it. Hence "To-Do" list. This time threshold is different for everyone. For me its about 6-8 hours. To focus on one thing you need to forget other things. To remember those other things people create reminders and to-do lists. You do not finish everything on a to-do list. You're supposed to get used to the fact that you won't.

Thank you. 🙏 At 63 and in both personal and career the "to do" list has caused complete burnout. I've turned into the person always looking 🤔 to find the list. TY

This is so true. I find myself never following my to do list all the time. But if I let things flow I actually do more.🔥

To-do is an external storage for jour mind, not an evaluation tool. It needs to be readjusted periodically or else it becomes frustrating

Blanket statements like that do not help anyone without clarification especially in our world of surfing the net looking for headliners

So I'm a 60yrF n diagnosed with ADD in 2020. ADD meds hv helped my focus, memory, attention n cognition but todolist is my superpower
I will ALWAYS b distracted, forget when I complete my tasks, what I should do next etc.
AND I need a tool 2 get me back 2 where I was
Todo lists r my lifesaver n how I keep structure in my life
It's my REMEMBER/DON'T FORGET, Where I'm at, See how much I've accomplish and when, motivating tool

Todo list hv ALWAYS helped me keep on track..

TODO LIST KEEPS ME INDISTRACTABLE!

Taking this with a pinch of salt though

I'm sure his experiences working with clients has shown that in many cases, to do-lists are not the best way to go, but for me to do-lists was a core tool that helped me improve my life tremendously.
I however didn't make lists for day to day productivity, at first I just made sure that the second I remembered something I wrote it down, as this removed the heavy feeling of "I feel like I've forgotten something important."
The list was filled with everything from very important things to pointless things, and I sorted the list as such. Gradually I took one important element and maybe some minor stuff from the list, added it to my calendar, and worked on it with focus, knowing I could ignore everything else as it was on my list and not going anywhere.

I'll describe the process further if anyone wants.

I never thought I am loser if I can't finish my to do list.

100% real, I've reinforced that kind of negativity without even knowing. Now I understand why I'm not eager so start again and not confident in being consistent!

there's a problem here. if i plan things for the day, place them in the form of to do lists, put time constraints and then analyse myself by the guidelines he mentioned, i am still using to do lists with some changes!
please remember, do NOT fall for such things. analyse YOURSELF. observe YOURSELF. you are different, and so are your habits. create your own methods and techniques and STOP WATCHING SELF IMPROVEMENT BS.

I think it was marketting that made him frame the statement "do no use to-do list" to appeal more to intrigue, in essence you would want to keep that to-do list in a more organized way. If you have the capacity to include "date and time" constraints to a task and focus on it no matter what, is the whole picture. You dont have to necessarily eliminate it, you just have to improve it.

Loved the part where he makes us realize though that todo list if you look at it holistically and dont finish them imprints on our minds that we are losers. However if you cut down those to do list on specific dates and try to target finishing a sensible amount of tasks then you "might" have the recipe you are looking for.

I've watched many Masterclasses and this is the best one so far! Truly techniques I can run with! I am going to be implementing them!

People who watch the clip or look at the title are really confused as to the concept Nir is explaining. I hope they take the time to watch the masterclass and really understand the point.

For people who can't manage their time, To_do_ list is important to manage their time.

I used the “ To Do List” as a “Must Do List”. During the course of a day, week, month events happen that are of such priority requiring immediate attention. My “To Do/Must Do List” assures obligations are met regardless of interruptions.
