Bro I work 50 - 60 hours a week, come home, study and work on gaining my Diploma in my field. Cook, clean, keep my relationship going. Let me play the damn game 😂

I go to work, where I have responsibility. Then I come home and game as much as possible b/c its fun. Like how some people like partying or playing checkers.. Its not that complicated.

This hits hard. I was about to play league, but I think I will sit down and draw my long procrasted painting.

Jordan is offering a tactic for people to find engagement in their own lives, not saying 'videogames bad'.

For nearly my entire life I played games only when I had a little bit of time to play. Which sometimes meant going years without playing. Now I actually find my life's meaning while playing games since I am 100% disabled and incapable of leaving my house. In the videogames I can be anything I want, in real life leaving my house means being helped and escourted.

If you are too engaged in your life its because you haven't found a sufficiently challenging video game.

So many comments here clearly aren't understanding the point. He's talking to men like me, who have not found meaning in life and fill it with games that prey on my instinct to overcome a challenge. I find games fulfilling in ways that my life is not. And I'm realizing now at 32 years old that he's absolutely right. I need to find a challenge, a burden, something to work towards in life.. or I'm going to go insane. Maybe that's having and providing for a family for some, maybe it's starting a business, maybe it's going back to school for others. I'm not sure what mine is yet, but I need to pick a dragon, and slay it. If I don't, I feel like I'll wither away.

I pay all the bills, I take care of my priorities, I can play my game for hours because I'm a grown ass man

This is what your boss tells you to make you work overtime while he’s on holiday

In simple terms, find challenges, conquer them, move on to the next challenge. Always keep yourself engaged

I find video games as my escape from fighting my dragons all week long. Sometimes you just want to forget the fight and do something mindless and remedial

Its not about slaying the dragon, its about visiting a beautifull magical place along the way that i know i would never financially able to do.

I was massively burdened at an early age and now I feel exhausted and daunted by everything in my forties. My only reprieve is escapism and distraction.

To each his own.
I had a weird uncle that spent countless hours alone at his basement. My friends always thought he was a sadistic murderer with torture devices down there, but what he really had ?!...

A freaking electric train set.

I play games to relax and take a breather. It’s a hobby. But I’m also engaged with life. I have a job, I go to the gym, I’m getting married in a couple months, I write music…life’s good right now

The most important thing I've learned this year is, not all advice is meant for you

I don't play games to replace what I have, I play them just to have fun
