More about how the theory test works:

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) improves road safety in Great Britain by setting standards for driving and motorcycling, and making sure drivers, vehicle operators and MOT garages understand and follow roadworthiness standards. We also provide a range of licensing, testing, education and enforcement services.

DVSA is an executive agency of the Department for Transport.

anyone else fail their theory because they saw the hazards wayy before the test allows it to register?

I am not a biker but have been driving since I am 18 and cycling in the last 7 years and was shocked to see that I had failed the hazard perception for motorcycle. I'm seeing the Hazard develop a lot sooner than the test allows! In 4 clips I scored 5. In 2 clips I scored 4. In 1 clip I scored 3 and in 6 I scored 0.

Absolute waste of my time, I felt confident I had passed after clicking the mouse for every developing hazard correctly then to find because I am an experienced driver I got penalised, I have been told to click the mouse 2 seconds after I've addressed the event . Not happy dvsa, another money spinner in my opinion, the best bit about this, is you can't even complain

I was working almost 8 years like a professional driver, doing pick up service for agency employees, bringing them to and from work. Every year about 75000 miles (more than most taxi drivers do) and I have never had an accident with my fault. Before that I was driving on 7 European countries, right and left side of the road, on sometimes very difficult weather conditions (ice, snow, heavy rain etc.) Also, I was attend many off road racing for amateurs and few for professionals. Today I FAIL Hazard Perception test for taxi drivers, only because I was probably to fast and clicked always on time when I saw hazard and only once on one hazard ( why should I do that more btw? - especially when it was told that you cant click to many times, because you can fail because of that ). Result : overall score 51. I can say one think: this Hazard perception test its a joke. You dont have to be a good driver, you just have to click, click, and click- that's what my friend done, and he pass it with 68 points and I'm afraid to drive with him, especially on the rush hours, because he is terrible driver...

I'm 35 and just decided to start to learn. I've cycled on the roads for a few years so hoping that some of the knowledge I've learned will come in handy. Driving certainly won't replace short commutes, but would be handy for work. HOpe I'm not too old to learn!

Ok I failed
Yesterday!  Scored 63.On 3 clips cored 0. But how can I
learn, if  I don`t know what I did wrong?
Did I click few milliseconds  too early like
I do when I`m practicing on app or I didn`t see a potential hazard! Needs
upgrading video card or something videos were lagging!

I have passed my test on 6th of March 2019.

I used DVSA official web site and The Complete Motorcycle Theory and Hazard Perception Test 2019 (Dts) from Amazon and learned the Highway code and was practicing HP clips for month.

Scored 63 of 75 possible.

I was surprised to find out the clips on my actual test, differed form the learning resources, as all of them were CG edited, same as one shown in this video, with fairly low driving speed. I took the test on 24" monitor. Not great clip quality, but good enough to spot the hazards. The clips online have had worse quality.

I have clicked twice on each hazard spotted to make sure I don't click too early. Total up to 6-7 clicks on clip.( Don't know how on the clip with two hazards I scored 10 btw) For one of the clips I scored zero for clicking in "unconsidered manner" for 5 clicks only. Probably, I wasn't clicking on the actual hazard.

I would say it was easier than practice clips online and if you buy any DVDs, so don't get stress, don't give up.
Practice and go for it.

This does not look anything like my practise disc, the CGI on mine is a disgrace with hazards that aren't visible.

Would you fail the clip if you clicked when you saw the developing hazard, but then clicked again whilst it was continuing to develop? I.e. clicking twice within the 5 second countdown timer?

hi there I think in actual test system is too sensitive it gives zero b4 you know it. no matter how much careful you be.

The only real way you can pass this part of the test is either by luck or by failing and then knowing how the click penalty works when you do it again.

I purchased The official DVSA Complete Theory and Hazzard perception DVD, and on the hazzard perception DVD the test only has 10 clips on the actual test yourself part. All the videos are the same every time on the new CGI clips. There should be more CGI clips on there, as this is the new way introduced for 2015 the way the test will be conducted.

Can you click the reds and yellows and not lose points for the yellows?

I'm fidgety and I click the mouse button without realising I have had the warning message 3 times because of this it's so annoying
