Quick tip, prime the bottom of the new piece of wood before installing. It will prevent from rotting again or use clear silicone to stop water from getting in from the rain😊

Very nice. I did a similar job on both sides of a door jamb a few years ago and after painting people could not tell it was repaired. Great job my man.

Some homes have a hundred of these repairs it’s either spending thousands or hundreds, this is a great example.

Rock Hard is a Bee-Ouch to sand. Make it smooth as possible before it sets.😉. Bondo body filler, auto shops, quicker and holds just as well. Bondo works very well with concrete repairs too.🤘.

Its also important to use correct paint, if its outdoor, use paint for wood that has protection in outdoors

I like that bondo trick you did where you let it get to that magic moment before it hardens then take away the excess. It makes it so much easier to sand.

Use vinyl to replace, and also fix the mortar missing in the brick.

Very nice. I did a similar repair but I used pvc. I had several to do so I bought the pvc moulding.

Did the same thing last year using the sane type of tool and sealed the whole thing with a resin that turned the wood weatherproof. The multitool took half a day off the job and the repair survived flooding this winter.

I’ve done this repair many times with no power tools, just a sharp saw and chisels. Oh and if you do this repair leave a larger gap between the new piece and the floor. Once you’ve painted it put a bead of frame sealant around the bottom to fill the gap.
