Michio Kaku - How Big Can the Cosmos Get?

preview_player
Показать описание
The size of the cosmos has been growing, in more ways than one. Our universe is expanding. Multiple universes, an immense number of them, are likely being generated continuously.

Michio Kaku is an American physicist, science communicator, futurologist, and writer of popular-science. He is a professor of theoretical physics at the City College of New York and the CUNY Graduate Center.

Michio is the very best at explaining science and cosmology to the layman.

In some universes, sound is lower you can barely hear videos.

The same question was asked to Dr. Alan Guth but I couldn't understand anything. I find Dr. Michio Kaku's explanation along with examples very understandable and fascinating. Is it just me or with most of you, too?

A good chat but I can hardly hear it with the volume maxed out.

The question of how big the cosmos can get delves into the nature of the universe's expansion. According to current cosmological models, the universe has been expanding since the Big Bang, and this expansion is accelerating due to a mysterious force known as dark energy. As a result, the cosmos could potentially continue expanding indefinitely, with galaxies moving farther apart over time. In this scenario, the universe would grow increasingly vast, possibly leading to a "Big Freeze, " where stars burn out, galaxies drift apart, and the universe becomes cold and dark. However, the ultimate fate and size of the cosmos depend on the underlying properties of dark energy, the shape of the universe, and other factors that are still not fully understood. Thus, while the universe can become incredibly vast, the full extent of its size and future expansion remains one of the great open questions in cosmology.

i loved michio's way of making hard ideas easy. i didn't like kaku before this. maybe it's a statement of how great an interviewer robert lawrence kuhn is.

Doctor Michio Kaku, explaining physics to all like putting butter on a bread.

The way I always thought about it was like this. You could go all the way around the universe. You would come back to where you started but at a different time. Time is space. Space is time. Cool stuff.

His statement concerning singularities is very honest and quite refreshing.

I've been following Mr. Kaku's interviews for quite some time and this sit down was the most honest and considered I've witnessed so far. The man simply says "we might be the God himself if we figure out the string theory" and that would be the human kind's Big Bang.

The shape of the universe is a fascinating subject. expansion, acceleration of expansion, non-uniform expansion. perhaps there is no geometric shape at all, and can still be open, closed, or flat.

The universe is a mental concept. Mental concepts are not finite. When you dream of a room you are not visualising the outside of the room, but you can if you want to. Its really a question of mind.

LOVE TO HEAR HIM EXPLAIN THINGS,
SO I CAN, AT LEAST COME CLOSE TO KINDA UNDERSTANDING .
