2020/2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid SUV PROs/CONs Review

The new RAV4 Hybrid has been one of Toyota's best-selling SUVs. I test drove the gas and hybrid models more than a few times. Definitely, there is plenty to like but there are few dislikes about the vehicle also. The Rav4 Hybrids are considered as hybrid battery electric vehicles not full electric like the Tesla, Leaf vehicles.

IMO, I think the Rav4 Hybrid should be considered to be on the top of the shopping list for anyone looking for an SUV/CUV vehicle.

Please check out the video and share your thoughts. A non-turbo engine and comfortable seats are pros also but I didn't get to add it to the video.

I used to sell these. And boy, do they sell! The biggest critique I have is road noise on the highway. I feel like they need to do a better job with sound deadening for a car that costs so much. It is a LOT of money for what is essentially a luxury economy vehicle.

I wish they had a tire monitoring system that shows each tire pressure . Also, I wish it had a power passenger seat.

Glad we got the NiMH battery.

Unless the lithium ion comes with a battery heater she is not going to perform well in colder climates.

Another con is the "fail to start" battery drain issue, unresolved by Toyota with no resolution in sight.

UPDATE: Thanks to William Pyles for pointing out: In June 2020, the 2020 RAV4 Hybrid switched to Li-ion. 2020 will be Li-ion. Whew.. remove that Cons now. This confirmed on the Toyota website as "Type: Sealed Lithium-ion (Li-ion)"

The 2020 RAV4 Hybrid went to lithium batteries in June 2020. No more NiMH.
