Best Video for troubleshooting E-bikes. I just got mine 3 days ago and tonight was the first time where I had to fold it up and transport it. After taking it out the bike wasn't working. I tried everything from checking the wires multiple times to checking the fuses, the battery...etc. I was running out of options and frustrated. After watching this video, I made it to the 3:41 second mark until I realized it was the brake! Super helpful! Thank you!

Well done sams bike shop, my ebike wouldn't power up, i watched cort and sam on YouTube and learned my bike had trouble with the battery not connecting with my controller.as my ebike is a folding bike I think there is a problem with the open close folding of the bike this could be a problem with folding bikes, don't fold up your bike too much.I'm from England and I learn a lot from sam and cort.

*Excellent, very informative!*

The video features a discussion at Myron's Xtreme Machines in Fullerton, California, focusing on troubleshooting electric bicycles. Here’s a summary of the main points covered:

1. Battery Check: The first step in troubleshooting is to verify that the battery has enough voltage. A voltmeter can be used to check the voltage directly from the battery or via connectors. A fully charged 48-volt battery should read around 52 volts.

2. Connections: Loose or bent prongs in the battery connectors can prevent power from reaching the bike. It's important to check these connections for proper contact.

3. Brake Inhibitors: If the bike powers on but doesn't function, the brake inhibitors may be causing a cutoff. Inspecting the brake levers and ensuring they are not bent or misaligned can resolve this issue.

4. Wiring Issues: Tracing wires to check for disconnections or damage is essential. Problems with the throttle, pedal assist, or cadence sensors can also prevent the bike from functioning properly.

5. Torque Sensors: Advanced bikes might have torque sensors that can malfunction, leading to issues with pedal assist. If adjustments don’t work, these may need to be replaced.

6. Maintenance Tips: Regular maintenance is crucial to avoid problems, such as ensuring all parts are tight and properly assembled. This includes checking the bottom bracket and keeping wiring clear of pinch points.

7. Professional Help: If troubleshooting at home doesn’t resolve the issue, seeking help from a local electric bike shop is recommended, especially if the bike is complex.

8. Safety: Wearing a helmet while riding is emphasized as a critical safety measure.

Overall, the video provides practical advice for diagnosing common electric bike issues and highlights the importance of regular maintenance and safety precautions.

This video saved a trip to the repair shop for me. I have a five year old Genze. The company folded up almost 2 years ago. What to do? I recently had the original battery rebuilt. Had power to the LCD, but bicycle no go. After watching this video, I checked the motor shut off, which looked a lot like the one pictured, under the hand brake. Lo and behold it had come a bit loose and was shifted sideways maybe a quarter of an inch. I put it back where it belonged, tightened the screw and voila! I'm back in business. Thanks much!

This is a great guy for the ebike business! I'm here in Michigan, so unfortunately, I can only see you work with him in your videos, but let him know, that he is appreciated here in Michigan!

Honestly I miss these videos. Sam is one hell of a character. Cheerful, and had a talent for making relatively complex mechanics/concepts sound effortless. In other videos, hearing how he goes the extra mile when service, if I was anywhere close to the region, I would stop by. C, bring these videos back man. Keep up the great work!

First time I've seen an electric bike lift. Love this vid, Court. It's like a basic primer for new e-bike owners when the durn blasted bike won't turn on...

This video helped me repair my new ebike. The manufacturer's documentation failed to help out but this video told me where to start looking/troubleshooting. Within 15 minutes I had my bike up and running for the first time.

Very great! The fact that my local bike shop might be not able to fix e-bikes was definitely one concern so far but I think sometimes you might be even able to fix it yourself! Good video!

Yes. Most bike shops in my area dont even want to touch my e-bike. I live 2½ hours from NYC and that's the nearest e-bike shop. So I just bought a new bike. I'm gonna look it over after this video and see if it's a simple wiring. Thanks for tips

The local E bike bike shop in my area refuses to work on any ebike unless they sold it to you. Thank you Frankfurt bike shop in Gerard Ohio.

You probably won't read this comment. But I can't thank you enough for this video. I have an ebike kit that hasn't work for a while. I have been trying different methods, spending lots of money to try and sort it out, brought the wrong wire connectors etc. I got to a point where I almost gave up. But when you mentioned the brake lever being ever so slightly pulled, I check mine and where you put the cable, that was stopping it from being fully closed. I can't believe after all that money and that was the bloody issue.
