I'm so sorry to hear your father in law had to experience this. Pleased he got his vehicle back. What a wonderful thing you did, donating the things to charity. Great video as ever, Cliff.

Recently watched a YouTube video in which 3 Brits were able to get through all wheel locking devices in seconds, including the expensive wheel cover device. Another video showed the steering wheel is still operational, so the car can still be driven. Surprisingly enough, the cheapest deterrent was a small switch which can be mounted and easily hidden and then acts as a kill switch.

Simple, Smart and effective! Real world solutions to real world problems. Whilst I enjoy prepping for the end of the world, I do like things that are more grounded in reality. Glad to see you back making to the prepping game more down to earth and my wife less likely to roll her eyes when I suggest she watch a video about prepping.

The only problem with the Apple Air tag is that it allows users to turn it off from unwanted tracker. Meaning if the thief has an iPhone the thief will get a notification he is being tracked and receive the option to turn the air tag off. I guess what you can do is also include a Samsung tag as a redundant tag in the same compartment along with the airtag.

It may not be a solution for newer cars (I don't know if something like that would affect electronics), but what my dad used to do was to create a bypass for the ignition with a 3.5mm audio socket on that bypass. The socket would be mounted somewhere under the dash. Doesn't have to be super hidden. From a distance, it just looks like a screw or something. Then he would have an audio jack with both channels soldered together so once the jack was inserted into the socket, it completed the circuit. I know for a fact that it stopped at least one attempt to steal his car. Thieves can learn how to defeat commercially available solutions. They won't know how to defeat something that was completely custom made.

Important video. It is so good to see you making videos again. Anytime I go from where I live toward any city I am very aware that my level of safety is going down.

Great info, thank you for sharing! Where I live there are multiple thefts both from the home or by gunpoint while people are driving. My biggest fear is if my dog is in the car with me, they can have my car but I want my dog.

I am LEO from New York. Crime is out of control here to. We are moving to Maine in when I retire. Maybe you should consider a move. You can change your name to the The Maine Rural Prepper.

I usually take the steering wheel off and stash it in my briefcase, I also had professionally installed a padlock on the driver's side door. I drive a old school mini with over pressurized windshield washers. I also keep a small brick for cruise control and self defense.

I get that the box is effective in blocking the key fob signal however I think storing it near the front door is a bit careless. If it was me I’d put the box as far away from the front door as possible. Preferably in my bedroom inside the night table drawer.
