Listening to these two having a conversation is an absolute pleasure

The "danger of hope" is precisely why it's better to underpromise and overdeliver than vice versa. The pain of disappointment is far greater than the surprise of exceeding expectations.

The intersection of neuroscience and psychology is fascinating.

These both men have helped to make so much good in my life for myself and others. Thanks from South America and for people like me you have supported from your hearts. GRATEFUL!

Oh, to have Jordan Peterson as a therapist! I am confident he could show me a path forward out of the depressive pit I know so well. His analysis of situations are always so dead on, or at least the ones that speak to my own experiences. I think he could fix me in one go. 😂
I sure love this man. Actually, both of these men are a delight to listen to. Now I just need to listen to this again, take notes, and figure out a game plan to become that better, future me.

"No man is hurt but by himself" by own expectations, by own hopes, by own interpretations.

Man Jordan looks so much better now than when this was filmed even just a year ago. In this his eyes look much more tired. Now the dude has the energy of a healthy 30 year old.

People keep claiming they want to stop working, just lounge on a beach and live life like that but as it turns out that's a recipe for depression. We need to always do something and have something to look forwards to.

Wow, you two should collaborate more! I was awestruck listening how you took motivation, dopamine and depression and made it very understandable and relatable <3 I especially loved Jordan's view on the binding on negative thoughts

Definitely something ive had to acknowledge and work on. I would often visualise and anticipate how a social event would go to get the motivation to do it, only to feel depressed and underwhelmed during/after because it didnt go as i had expected. The overwhelm of putting mysepf out of my comfort zone and feeling that it was "for nothing" spiralled me mentally.
Its extremely hard now to go into things "blindly" (needing control but accepting i dont actually have it) and be ok with whatever does/doesnt happen.
There is an inherent need for that dopamine hit of "i actually enjoyed myself" -to often find it doesnt come to fruition, is one of the hardest tests/lessons of life im struggling to accept.
Its hard to not feel that sense of "i cant enjoy anything in life - with or without hope attached".
