What a fantastic video! Clear, concise and well thought out. Sounds like the base Mac Studio remains a great option. I had been feeling uneasy about getting something that is effectively based on 2 year old tech, but you nicely demonstrated minimal differences in real world performance.
An M2 Max Mac Studio could be a long time in coming if the rumours are true.

gpu cores mean nothing to me i dont touch video or photo work i only use audio recording. Ive got an older intel mac min. the macmini pro base looks good. 16gb is fine the extra ports are good only thing i might upgrade would be to go from 512gb drive to 1 tb what do you think?

I do have a question though about CPU vs. GPU. Which is more important to a photographer that edits larger files in Lightroom classic? Does the GPU handle the development module and apply the filters? What about when you export a lot of edited photos? Is it the CPU or GPU that helps most? I do very little video, but handle a lot of photos each year.

Any thoughts on which is more important to Lightroom Classic? I thought I would buy an upgraded M2 Pro Mini, but now you have me thinking about a M1 Max Studio with 1 TB SSD instead.

I am just not sure what is more important to photo editing CPU or GPU.

I've always lived the MacMini systems, even though I'm much more of a PC nerd 🤓 You raise some great points about the differences between the M1 and M2, I think this is often overlooked by other channels. Take every generation as though nothing else existed. Sure, raise the point that you might need to think things through a little more if you're thinking about upgrading... But trying to say that getting an M2 mac is pointless or that they're bad or something because they're not that much better, it's just a bad take. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about it all CJ 😊💜
