This is literally the config I am looking at, and was debating on waiting for the M4 chip, but not sure if it will be worth it for me both for performance gains and inventible cost increase. This would be my first mac, and I am a professional software developer - but iOS development is a hobby for me I wanted to get into. On the other hand I don't "need" it now. But then again this would be a personal computer and all my work equipment is provided.

Thanks for the review! I just bought 3 of these machines but I think I will soon realize that my hibernating 2013 MacBook Air is far superior in power, speed, and looks so will probably just end up throwing them out. I'm glad it's sufficient for your work though!
