04:43 There are 8 ssd slots, 4 on each side. If you have the 512 model there are one 256 on each side.

Crap! I just woke up and noticed the Price to performance slide is missing. Whoops. No more all nighters lol.

Thank you for the transparent review of the noise level with the Pro. This is the first video I have seen that the noise was recorded and a part of the video. Another well-known review channel touched on the temp levels but not the actual noise. While the Studio is ~53% more money they the Pro with only a ~15% performance increase, silence is golden.

Wow, what a great video. Thank you for not just being a fan boy, but providing concise, detailed, honest breakdowns.

Thank you for the quick testing. As a first time Mac user, I love my base model Mac studio with 32 GB RAM. It has everything I need. I would probably have bought this Mac Mini M2 if they’ve released last year. Last year, I made the decision to invest more money into the Mac Studio because of the ports and capacity. The Mac Mini M1 was just no powerful enough. Anyways, thank you again. This video answered my question about real life performance with photo and video editing.

Great stuff. Looking forward to some Resolve benchmarks. Not just export, but timeline performance.

I was hoping going to Bluetooth 5.3 would have solved your (and other people's) keyboard and/or mouse drop outs. This alone puts me off Mac Mini M1/M2.

I think I will eventually pick up a refurbished M1 Max Studio instead of the Mac Mini M2 Pro with 32GB memory.

I have a home recording studio for music production and still using a 2013 iMac. I went to Apple Store today with my mind set on the Studio M1 Max with upgrade of 32 gb memory and 1 tb storage. Apple employee recommended Mac Mini M2 Pro and upgraded with same memory and storage. Mini has more CPU but less ports. Both are same price with the extras I added. I use Logic Pro and a lot of plugins. I'm so confused now on which would be better for me.

I started using mine today. I got it for Remote Desktop work and it's fantastic.

appreciate the fan test at 8:28. I suspected the fan would spin up and be audible when under stress in that small chassis (like the Intel models). My M1 Pro MBP 14 sounds similar when using Handbrake.

This was useful. (And NOT rambling) Thanks👍

The M2 pro version’s SSD is not single nand. The other chip is on the other side of the motherboard

It will be great if we can have some benchmark for compiling software.

I use rust (programming language) daily and its compiler is a special case where it is sensitive to both single core and multi core performance.
That is because its compilation unit is the entire crate instead of one single file in C/C++.

I will be glad if you can test this.

Extended thermal performance is a worry though. If it’s to be run all day long, higher temperatures/fan speed will erode the longevity of this compared to the Mac Studio

Great content, thanks. I definitely don't need the power of the M2 Pro today (upgrading from my 2018 i3 based Mini), but I'm thinking that I may as well stretch the budget today to get something that I can hopefully get a good few years from in the M2 Pro standard spec (vs a M2 model with upgrades to 16Gb RAM and 500Gb SSD), as future OSX versions become more demanding, and so on. Decisions!
