Physicians Committee dietitian here! Keeping the essential fatty acids straight can be tricky.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA): An essential omega-3. Your body converts it into EPA and DHA, which are also examples of fatty acids. ALA, EPA, and DHA are considered the 3 main omega-3 fatty acids.

Linoleic acid (LA): An essential omega-6 fatty acid, also crucial for your health.

It really astonish me how vegetarian and vegan people look very pale, very thin skin, very skinny... they don't look healthy at all.... instead carnivores look very healthy, good face color, toned muscles, supple face skin, they look vibrant!!!

I am sick and tired of these so called professionals confusing the daylights out of us. No fat, yes fat, carbs are good, carbs not good, don’t use olive oil, oh, olive oil is good for you. WHAT!!!! I have decided to go back to the diet my parents brought me up on. A bit of everything. If I survived then, I will survive now.

The question is not whether we "need" fat. It's whether eating a bit of fat, not excessive amount, is ok and maybe good for you. No need to make zero the goal.

I tried to raise my omega 3 index by eating flax seds in my smoothie, walnuts, and sea moss. I only increased my omega3 to 6 index after adding a can of sardines in water daily until my next test in 30 days the sardines made my results go rom yellow to green

A bit of olive oil sprayed in your pan won't make any difference. Aiming for absolute perfection is not my goal, I'm happy with 95% wfpb

There’s still a lot of research which needs to be done on fats. For instance, while me may not need saturated fats, research pertaining to the health effects of consuming different types of saturated fatty acids is lacking

Theres a book called Trim Healthy Momma, the writer talks about her following a vegan diet. She said shehad gas like a dairy cow and her baby was born thin and sickly, and his teeth came in crooked and stained. You need a good balance of all foods. Too much of a good thing is bad .God did not make us vegetarians. He told Peter take and eat when Peter had a vision of all the animals. Whole milk and farm fresh eggs are good for you. Fish and yogurt and kefir. Fresh fruit and Chicken and venison and farm fresh beef. Don't listen to these wacky people.

Some bodies convert to longer chains well, others do not which is why fish oil is helpful, no need to convert.
