Throwing an Angular Porcelain Vase on the Potter's Wheel

Back to porcelain, for a few days at least. Throwing on my new Rohde HMT 600 potters wheel, which allows for a few different close-up angles.

I’ll be going simple with these pots this time around. Simple black and white glazes will coat these forms, dipped very carefully and neatly. Comparatively my last batch of porcelain work was a means of doing glaze experimentation, very little of I was genuinely happy with. So, better luck this time round I hope. Oh, and excuse the bearded chin that sneaks into frame, I’ll have to work on that.

I don't get how it always looks so ready to be immediately picked up and removed like that. I feel like i'd have to leave mine for many hours to be able to pick it up like that without it deforming. Yours doesn't even look like you get your fingerprints on it. This is why I was considering getting/making loads of bats.

What would an object look like where porcelain clay mixed with normal red clay.

Like a vase made half of porcelain and half of red clay. Candy striped, super thin walled . . .

Would it dry and fire okay or would it crack?

what type of clay is that? I started doing pottery and it feels like my clay doesn't move at all. : (
