A bit of constructive criticism, so i hope its received well! I don't know this guy well, but he's talking as someone who's never been overweight. Calisthenics is a set of exercises you can get excited about and can break down the mundane of regular workouts, which is a huge reason people quit working out all together (it feels like dread and is unenjoyable). So it feels off that the number one thing he says to start calisthenics is to lose weight. Big red flag and it shows he doesn't understand the struggle of the people hes trying to help. For a lot of people, they have to rid of the dread and start to love moving their body FIRST in order to make lasting change. His number one tip should be to use variations to do what you can. There are SO many variations that people can do with the basic moves (push ups, pull ups, squats, planks, etc.) He just put a huge barrier to entry to calisthenics for anyone not already fit (lose weight first) and said THEN come to play with calisthenics. I get his point... losing weight makes these moves *easier*, but he missed the point that overweight people want to join in, not feel like they're outside the club until they lose the fat theyve probably been trying to lose long before they searched and found his video. Learn and empathize with the struggle more. Not everyone is overweight because they love eating cheese burgers all day. Post menopausal women, post natal women (hormonal reasons it's hard to lose weight), high stress and cortisol issues, thyroid issues, plus the pesticides in everything causing issues ... these are all much more rampant than you'd think. You can help more people if you empathize and change this type ofcontent to being more inclusive to people where they're at

Can't even do one pushup lol but Hybrid Calisthenics has really helped me. After a week, I went from 3sec deadhangs to 20s deadhangs. And I wasn't even doing it daily. I started with wall pushups and wall pullups and now I'm moving onto the inclined variations.

I recommend doing weight training first then calisthenics. As u become stronger it’s easier to lift your body weight

Dawg, i'm skinny fat 31 never was fit or into fitness, me lookin like Mike Wazowski @ 160 lbs and working towards 10 legit pushups haha.
I find that doing basic pushups and squats are harder then lifting weight. why?
