The lesson from ww1? Never let foreign bankers set up a central bank.

WW1 is often overlooked but to me it has some of the most valuable lessons to be learned out of all the modern conflicts.

"I heard that World War 1 started because a bloke called Archie Duke shot an ostrich because he was hungry."
"I think you mean that it started when the Archduke of Austria-Hungary got shot".
"Na, there was definitely an ostrich involved, sir."

Almost 20 years later I was in Iraq fighting "evil". . . Literally, 500 or so people, out of 300 million, decided that.

He's right on the money about the value of these kinds of interviews for history. I'm constantly surprised by the variety of your guests and the quality of your interviews. Keep it up!

Eisenhower had a very unique perspective being both Field Commander Chief of the Armed Forces and US President. His warning went over everyone's head and then ignored to this day

Thank you, Lex. Thoroughly enjoyed this conversation. Christopher was an excellent guest. His humility despite his knowledge and expertise made what he said resonate even more.

Please never change Lex. I’m serious. It’s going to be hard not to, but we need you to stay this way.

Lex, when you get a chance, watch congressman Ron Paul's farewell address when he announced he wouldn't be seeking another term after decades of trying to promote peace. He speaks on the very issues you were concerned weren't being brought up. Also, he would make a fine guest on your podcast.

This is a great and very useful podcast Lex. I am using the segment on how World War I started in my ninth grade Honors Geography class as preparation for next semester's AP Human Geography course. Thanks for your relevant content!
