EASY QUILT TUTORIAL! Trip Around The World Quilt using 2 1/2' strips

'Anita' asked if I could make a Trip Around The World Baby quilt...well this isn't quite a baby quilt, but fabric choice is fun anyway! Hope you enjoy this tutorial! This quilt is super easy to make ~ just be careful with your ironing!

I might be totally off the mark. I'm looking at it, and I think this would work. Just sew all 4 quadrants the same way, just rotate a quarter turn or spin each section.

baby quilts don't have to be pale tones, i made baby play quilts and used vibrant colors to stimulate the baby

Well it finally got me. I’m in my second week of COVID and it’s no picnic. I have been coughing pretty much non stop for 2 weeks. Fortunately my numbers look good so the doctors are happy. You become completely drained of energy. It’s shocking how weak you become. I don’t know where we got it, my husband also got it but is recovering much quicker. I’ve pretty much been sleeping all the time. You have no desire to eat and the body pain and headache is awful. Stay safe Jean this isn’t something I would wish on anyone.

Jean, I did the same thing when I made myself a quilt from my Mother’s clothing after she passed away. I had made a huge mistake that I never noticed until I got it back from the long arm quilter. When I noticed it I couldn’t help but laugh because I could just hear Mom say “Oh, don’t worry about it. It just gives it character.” So, I decided to just enjoy the quilt and not fret about it!

Thanks Jean for the video. I had originally done Eleanor Burns' Trip Around the World quilt pattern and I was not pleased with it. It is still a flimsy. I could never figure out how this version addressed the middle section. It now make sense to me! LOL. I like the idea of doing it in quadrants. So much easier that way. Again Jean thank you for taking the time to do this video.

Oh Jean they are just lovely. I love this pattern. So good of you to show me how you do it. I think it would be lovely for a baby quilt. Especially if you don't know what sex the baby is.

Just watching the tutorial. I had no idea it was so complicated. But what a lovely quilt. I'm going to start with a small one and practice. It is complicated because the tube is a circle.. YEAH. You got it.

Oh Jean, I love your fabric choices! That is where I struggle. I have design block when it comes to choosing what goes together. Love your teaching method where we get to see dilemmas, errors and resolutions. I am currently working on a Scrabble quilt for my Husband and I's best friends for over 40 years. It was supposed to be for Christmas but.... after several oops, I think I should be ready to quilt it in the next week or so. I have revisited your tutorial on this several times as I've been working on it. Much Appreciated!!

4:41 i have heard the amish people make a mistake by plan to not be perfect. Because only God is perfect. If you don´t tell, 50% of all people will not see the mistake. I like the chosen colors.
