35 years after 959 was introduced, car manufacturers started using more often some clever ideas about awd systems. Steering angle, throttle position, wipers engaded, turbo boost status etc.

Both cars did a great job. I personally would have the Volkswagen because of the EA888 and DQ-500 7 speed gearbox

Interesting to see how it performed Mazda. In other videos, in "real world" situations, doesn't seem to be so good as it does on the rollers!

how does Mazda performs better without TCS.with TCS off, the power will be sent to wheel with least resistance (rollers), then how does it manage to get out?what am I missing? please explain

Why not deactivate vehicle stability control for the VW?

Maybe is not that important, but the vw is in disadvantage having the DCT. In real life off road it gets hot and start slipping clutches very fast, making it less capable in real off road (tires permitting). The torque converter on the Mazda is way better for off road usage

Mazda performed way better with ESP disabled. You posted about a sort of “secret off road mode” some days ago: is it related to this?

Thanks for the video. I have CX-5 platinum package. Same one like in the video. The only problem is where can I get offroad tires that can fit in those 19" wheels. By the way I'm running on toyo proxes R46a.

Чёт хрень какая-то... Обычно на немцах эммитации всегда работают лучше, что нельзя сказать о японцах и о Мазде... Мазда в принципе никогда этим не славилась.
