Only real 4WD is the Land Rover, But the CX5 surprised me. The cx5 honestly is the best suv you buy in the mid range price. Mazda is really stepping up the rut game and it shows. Especially here in Australia Mazda is now a major threat against Toyota. Their smashing Toyota in every way. Style, comfort, luxury, tech, engines, interior, and performance.

LR easily won that. But the CX-5 and BMW did actually impress me. They've come a long way!

Norm T the CX5 shown is the 2.2L diesel which has 420Nm of torque. It’s a solid engine that would have no problem up that last ramp.

Love that theMAZDA CX-5 does so well against "upscale" brands. BUT... the CX-5 os head and shoulders above the Land Rover Discovery in reliability according to Consumer Reports. The Discovery gets CR's LOWEST rating and theCX-5 the HIGHEST rating. And the CX-5 top Signature model, at $40, 000. fully loaded is just as luxurious as any of the others.
I' rather drive the great handling Stelvio but I'd rather OWN my CX-5 GT Reserve (2.5 L. turbo, AWD).
