You hit it on the head when you said you thought this song was about appreciating life. Thats the whole album. He is singing about his shitty life but he loves it and he loves his dog Louie. It was for me at like 17 at the time a motivating force.

Bradley Noell and Sublime are SO underrated when it comes to incredibly well written music of the 90's, I feel they should be as popular as Nirvana but oh well I love them so much .

The thing about Sublime.. is that it can give you happy sounds with absolutely heartbreaking lyrics. Bradley(lead singer) died of an OD. There's a song called badfish expressing his problems and he gets really dark on a song called, "Pool Shark"

Before Bradley Nowell passed away, he had a beautiful relationship with his dog, his Dalmatian . His dogs name was “ Lou Dog “
You will hear him sing about “ Lou Dog “ in many songs .

I once read that Lou Dog meant the world to Bradley 🤘🏻

I really appreciated he fact that you guys break down songs, and try to understand them on a deeper level. It’s so refreshing to see that from younger people. I’m not some old fuck, but I’m 36 with a 16 yr old son. I’ve been doing my best o expose him to new music and ideas.
