for sure! I was fortunately given the same advice when I was transistioning to digital recording. It has made a big difference for me.

Totally agreed. I would have been totally lost when first learning a DAW without friends who had more experience. I’d also add that having plentiful online resources for questions is also helpful. I used DP for years, but struggled to find consistent online resources to learn more. Switched to Logic a few years back and now have endless resources for just about any little thing.

Absolutely Hunter. During Covid when I began recording songs in Garageband, was an easy choice to go to Logic, but not for obvious 🍎 reason, it was like you said, my network of Logic users between my online recording class, a weekly Zoom happy hour and one of my closest musician friends, I had a lot of "life-lines" that were Logic savvy and was so fortunate to have them to reach out to.

Good advice for those getting started, Ronan. I watched this with subtitles and DAW was referred to as doll, dog, do, dos and da. 🤩 And then there is "Hey, this is Ron and Chris Murphy." 🤓

I would also add that you should consider whether you are more comfortable on a Mac or PC (Windows or maybe Linux), because like it or not, you will interact with the operating system too, especially if you need to troubleshoot something. I know I may be in the minority (using Windows/PC), but I've done it for many years and I know the system inside/out, so it always made the most sense for me. And if there ever is a problem, I know where to look, and can narrow it down pretty quickly and most of the time (contrary to the naysayers), my system works just fine.

I've used them all and while it depends what you're using it for... Fl studio for music making is by FAR the best imo. Again... Depends what you use it for.

I used Cubase for quite a while and I think the plug and play midi is cool, but having to setup midi controllers manually I have the Presonus Studiolive 32s with Studio One now and I'm never going back!
