This was a really helpful video. As someone who used to make music, but haven't in the last 15 years or so, I really have no idea what kind of DAWs are out there now. I was using Reason 3.0 back in the day! lol Being a mac user, Logic seems interesting, but some of your other recommendations have peaked my interest. Like Reaper, and FL studios. Thanks for the great video.

Been using FL for 6 months now. Making trap beats is pretty damn easy. I love how I can just open it up and get to work. Downside is mixing, automating and really “producing” is annoying.

The workflow isn’t the best so I got Logic like 2 weeks ago. I have yet to finish a project. It feels so difficult to just get started. I see the potential to produce high quality music but man the learning curve. You do things almost completely different than FL. But for some reason I am determined to learn Logic! Guess I’m crazy idk

Thanks for the video! Would you recommend Abilton for making House music? I’ve been using GarageBand, but finally bought a MIDI controller and now GarageBand won’t open…guessing it’s not compatible with the M-Audio controller. GarageBand has been so glitchy anyway, that I started thinking I need to upgrade.

When you said logic and the other daws have a high learning curve to become a master, do you mean they are all difficult and take a lot of time to learn?

Best mac option to just mix an accompaniment trax and add SATB voices in each track for later export the accompaniment with the individual voices for choir rehearsal???

Thank you Mattie for the good understandable introduction into Daws. But 3 things would be nice to change/add:
you speak too fast, so I changed the tempo of your video to 0.75 (not everyone here is an Anglo, you know?), and you didn't explained how YOU began? What was your first low Cost steps?
Last but not least you didn't analyze DAW Android Apps, Cakewalk, BespokeSynth, Ardour and Cardinal. A tabloid with all important points compared would be nice as pdf download.
