Trent played there until he was 17, so it’s not an entirely different position, they moved him back in order to get him in the team, They sort of just kept in that he’s a midfielder at heart

I think it will be good for him and I think he’ll be even better than what he is and has ever been. When Steven Gerard played in his first season in the first team, he was played at rb and was eventually moved into cm and the rest is history. So if the correlation is right Trent will benefit from moving to midfield alot

Yeah I agree - cause at a team like City he’s flourish but with the 433 system we play the midfielders are there to press that’s why we want the likes of Mac Allister, Thuram, Koné etc that’s no what Trent is best at…

I liked that he moves into mid when we have possession. Gives us an extra body in midfield to press. But will have a long term effect on Konate. We should perhaps get another CB as well to cover him as Matip can't do the same job when Trent moves into midfield
