$20 Vegan 1 Week Meal Prepped in 1 hour! Is it possible in the US in 2023? Back in 2016 Cheap Lazy Vegan posted a $20 Canadian ($15 US) budget meal prep video in Wal-Mart. And today we decided to recreate her grocery list to see how expensive it is in today's dollars. I also wanted to see how easy her recipes were to make and how tasty they are.

A really cheap vegetable is an old fashioned head of cabbage. Red cabbage is especially healthy.

Can I say how glad I am to see this channel active again?? We love to see it and we love the Scott inclusion.

It's so good to see you doing a budget meal video again and also interesting to realise it was based on one that Rose did.
I actually first discovered you from way back in the day when you used to do your own budget weeks at Aldi first I think and then other stores, so I'd be more interested to see what you would come up with on your own. Look forward to hopefully seeing that come to fruition. Thanks 😊

So happy to see this channel is active again. Yes, plant based eating don’t need to be expensive. In fact in my college days 30yrs ago, rice+veggies is my go to food when i was down to my last $100. That lasted me a whole month too. To top it all off i did my grocery shopping at chinese/asian supermarket that sells all sorts of Asian veggies for cheap+10kg or 20kg bag of rice. It costed me about $50 back then. While it might cost close to $100 these days, it’s still cheap than having to buy meat, cheese & eggs.

I enjoyed this so much. I've watched cheap, lazy vegan for many years and that made it extra fun. I hope you are going to do more like this.

Some great takeaways from doing this experiment, Craig. It’s also fun that you’re shooting with Scott and can get his feedback and opinions, too.

For anyone interested, The Beyond Meat burgers and sausages are at Dollar Tree this month for only $1.25! I was completely shocked to see them there. A channel on YouTube, PrettyNFlawed, just did a Dollar Tree shopping video and there they were. Enjoy :)

I'd also like to thank you for reminding me of Rose's budget video as I had watched this one back when she first uploaded it but hadn't gone back to it in a while, so now am inspired to make some of these dishes again.
I actually don't mind tinned corn and think compared to other tinned vegetables corn isn't bad that way, as opposed to things like asparagus, green beans and peas.
Here in Australia frozen corn costs about double what tinned corn does, so that's another thing to think about.
There's other budget videos of hers that I'd enjoy watching you try, one she did with lentil patties and many other things and made so much food from what she bought, it looked like about two weeks worth!
Nice to see you cooking in your parents house too, have followed you for a while and always enjoy your easygoing way of doing things. 😊🌽🥦

Craig: simple dressing: 3 TBL good balsamic vinegar, 2 TBL dijon mustard, 1 TB maple syrup--delish! and easy! :) Great video--enjoyed! :) Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :) LOVE THOSE COOKING VIDEOS!

I totally agree with you on the corn. Frozen corn is so much better. I also went to frozen veggies to save money. That taco seasoning tip, I will have to it a try. Mustard to me is not a dressing. 😂😂 love these kind of videos! 👍🏻😄

Rose usually has everything written out on her blog so it's a bit easier to follow 😉

Canned corn is surprisingly not bad. I think because corn is tough enough to withstand the canning process without turning mushy.

Impressive!! I bet if you had bought regular tofu instead of the pre-seasoned kind, you probably would have come in on budget! I love Dijon mustard so the pasta salad actually sounds intriguing to me, haha.
