In this video I go over two methods for factoring a general trinomial (leading coefficient not equal to 1). The two methods are AC Method and Slide and Divide Method.

The "Slide and Divide" approach is a version of the "AC Method" -- because you're multiplying A x C when using it as well. It's actually a shortcut for the Australian algorithm (for factoring trinomials). It works by compensation. When you split the middle term (first technique), it's typically referred to as the "AC Method + Grouping."
