AC Electrical Circuit Analysis: Introduction

With this video, we begin an exploration of AC electrical circuit analysis techniques. This sequence assumes that you have some mastery of DC circuit analysis techniques. To begin, we will discuss the basics of sinusoidal waveforms and the use of complex numbers to describe vectors. From there we will explore the concepts of reactance and impedance, and the applications of Ohm's law and Kirchhoff's laws to AC circuits. More advanced techniques using nodal and mesh analysis will also be covered, along with power computations and an introduction to polyphase systems.
