AC Circuits: Crash Course Physics #36

Показать описание
We've talked about AC Circuits, but now it's time to delve into the world of AC Circuits (or alternating currents). We’ve talked about how they change voltage, which helps transmit electricity over long distances, but there’s so much more to the physics of AC circuitry.

She's explaining this stuff like the cops are coming.

I'm a 3rd year EE student, and this video gave me depression

Having just completed my 3rd semester in an electronics technology 2-year degree program, this is a nice little summary that helps put what I've learned about AC circuits in perspective. However, it's clearly not for beginners, nor for experts. Higher than vocational, lower than engineering.

Who is this for? Animated like it's for kids but zipping through formulas like they assume you're an electrical engineer.

people who are complaining about the speed know that that's why it's called a 'crash course'.
and if ur a student like me who wishes to sum up everything and create a flowchart sort of thing in ur mind ull love this

Senior in EE & this video still managed to teach me a different & more useful perspective on the workings of inductors than anything in any of my classes. Mind blown.

I wanna thank you so much. I finally get this after stumbling through weeks of physics lectures at my university. I'm a visual learner so the animations and the analogies to the car speeding up and slowing down help a lot.

Damn, basically a 10min summary of the ECET course I took last semester

Me at 0:00 let's increase the playback speed to save time.
After few seconds the woman be like: Nah boy we don't do that here.

My finals are in 3 days
This crash course is the only reason I could complete my syllabus in time
Everything is so well explained
And the fact that she's so cute ain't hurting.

This is great for a quick run down before an exam. Honestly I understand more from her 10 minute speech than the hour long lecture I sit through for physics.

Remember, kids: ELI the ICE man.

ELI: Inductance means that E (Voltage, electromotive potential) leads I (current)

ICE: Capacitance means that I (current) leads E (Voltage, electromotive potential)

H/T Gordon West, WB6NOA and his Extra Class tapes. I'll remember *that* one until the Second Coming.

I'm never disappointed with crash course videos, but... I thought this said AC Circus and I have to admit, knowing what might have been has really limited how happy I can be.

i literally had to pause like every two seconds just to be like I GET IT NOW."
you guys saved my butt, thank you!

This is way too many topics for a ten minute video.

I am an RF & microwave engineer with about 35 years of experience, so this stuff is my bread-and-butter. I've viewed a lot of Crash Course videos. This is the first time I kept up with its blistering pace.

If I didn't already know the material, it would be extremely hard to follow. Keep in mind the target audience. The amount of material and the speed at which it's covered in this video are too much. I really do like the idea of the videos, but the execution of the idea could be done better.
