You just made my first go with the circular saw 1000 times safer! Thanks so much for the tips.

Great safety tips. One other one I didn’t see was to adjust the height of the blade to only cut the thickness of the material thus saving the blade wear.

Very Good tips!
I might add, "Don't stand behind saw." If it does kickback, let off trigger."

Great tips as always Shane, all good reminders. Loving the "Safety in numbers' 🤣.

Hey Shane, one of the best things I ever did when it came to a circular saw was buy a 165mm 18v Makita. The smaller size does about 80% of what my 235mm Hitachi saw would do, so I only need that on special occasions. But the best thing about the 18v cordless, is the brake on it. Release the trigger and the saw stops in only a few seconds, and it has the added benefit of no cord, which means no tripping hazard and no fluffing around with the cord accidentally getting caught.

Just my 2 cents

Your safety tips are good as gold. Especially because you don't just tell what to avoid, but you present a solution for very typical situations.

One little bonus tip, that works wonders: Make your work bench heavy. It will stand more stable, it will not wander off when pushing with the circular saw. Even folding work stands can be weighed down with some bricks on a board.

Good one , Easy to flow - some people do NOT UNDERSTAND the basic principals involved .

Wise advice and funny as always. This is a great reference for circs. One of the clearest remaining memories from my childhood is my dad coming close to taking his arm off with a circular saw. Early 90s, im out the backyard with him and hes cutting on saw horses, it kicks back and he gets a scratch from one end of his forearm to the other. He said some words, put the saw down, sat down and chain smoked while staring at the ground/sky/ his arm!! *Cue The Wonder Years opening credits*

Hi Shane, thanks for sharing your recent experience. Takes a big guy to admit mistakes and it shows we can all make them.

Good tips! Loved the joke, of course! My own kids are reeling in their chairs groaning after I repeated it to them. Love it! Cheers, Scotty (Norway)

This video is right on time. I recently took a carpentry course and I see a lot of guys misuse the circular saw and caused it to bounce. This video is beneficial. I love the accent and I learned a lot of Australian slang.

Awesome tips. 😊
Your "Dad " joke made me smile, but your facial expression immediately after is what made me giggle!

Thank you for posting this. Just bought a circular saw and I have no experience using one. I am trying to brush up on all of the safety tips before using it.

Great tips for everyone, I've had kickbacks now and then over the years, mostly because I was working on unlevel ground, no sawhorses or workbench. I made myself a workbench last year, so much better on my back that way😊
