I remain puzzled that no-one can seem to grasp these basic logical concepts. If we accept that AI is going to be built that rivals and surpasses the human mind, there is NOTHING that we can currently do that AI won't be able to beat us at. That means even "domain problem solving" is going to be automated as well. People need to get that AI is going to take over completely, that not a single area of employment is safe, so that we can begin discussing alternatives to our current economic system before tech bros and billionaires make these decisions for us.

bro point is.. for example some researcher is researching on how to find a seed with high yield.. he has to deal with so much data... it will only help him... it will make his work easier..

so coding is necessary...

but yea... coding websites and such boring things is not necessary.. these skills are redundant...


when zuck said it.. he meant that it will be used everywhere..

even in farming its gonna be used... drones are gonna be used for spraying pesticides.. color coding of yield.. to see if fruit is ripe etc etc... it can be used everyehere..

so yea.. its like maths.. everyone should know basics atleast...

i recently got into and left a web development job.. it was like so boring... will explore some other coding field now.. may be it will be useful.. and align with my goals of having a better future for humanity..

yes everyone has different expertise... but you have to tell basics of everything to kids to tell them what they are good at right?

and coding and ai's main aim is to reduce human labor... farming, coal mining are the first things that coding should solve.. and i believe robots are working on that.. i mean researchers are working on those robnots.. humans should just relax.. and chill... initially there will be rucus about job loss and everything.. but human labor should be reduced... that way we can have improved planet.

I have always hated that "learn to code" thing being touted around. I have been assuring people there are other meaningful thing in life they can do if they can't code. Coding is not for everyone.

People still catch mistakes that AI makes in programming. Only people who can't code or have no ability to read and execute code in their head will say people should not learn to code. It's a convenient excuse to not learn the hard disciplines. It's laziness at its finest.

Man this sucks. I'm in school learning Web Development and working full time. Should I just drop out of school? He says that learning coding is useless, but doesn't give us an alternative...

I don't understand why so many people think they are safe in their job. AI will eventually learn to do what they can do better than they can do it. With that in mind, there is no job that is safe if AI can learn to do it. All the arts, all the sciences, and all the planning, and problem-solving jobs, are all in danger whether people want to believe it or not. But until they get robots in to do manual labor, good old hard work won't be replaced... yet.
