"Don't Learn to Code, Study This Instead..." NVIDIA Jensen Huang | Howie Lim

Jensen Huang, Co-Founder and CEO of NVIDIA was recently saying at the @WorldGovSummit .

We as humanity should focus more on what we should prioritize in the age of AI than grabbing a "hot" statement without considering its full context.

Since most people don't have time to sit through the full interview, my hope is that this video provides a better context without creating unnecessary anxiety in light of AI and rapid change.

we have calculator but still got to learn math. It only help us work smarter and faster, but it didn't make learning pointless. Bless everyone who still learning.

Honestly ai won't replace the 2% of programmers who inovate. It will replace the other 98% who follow trends. And can't programming in low level. Ai can't replace something not invented yet but will learn the IT slave jobs at a faster pace than a human. If you don't work on chips, embedded systems, aerospace defense, mechanical engineering. Ai will most likely surpass you.

So far it’s just allowing Programmers to work faster, being able to generate 30% of the code I create just allows me to be more productive… I’m correcting and adding to that 30% generated and the other 70% gets into business knowledge and knowing what type of modules to build… every knowledge worker profession, including attorneys and medical doctors face the same transition… until these models are perfect humans will still be needed

I use AI to create a structure in PowerPoint and it creates nice illustrations and captions and layout and theme. It can sift through emails sorting them after priority, that is nice. I use AI to fight bureaucracy and corporate admin and I love it!

It depends on which country you live in. If you live in the US you should study Law so you can sue people, study Economics to make money from papers, be a Military so you can fight war overseas. Look at what prestige universities teach. Programming is not for the US, coders are just laughed at.

The problem with the pursue the things you are interested in mantra is that most work just isn't that interesting. What is the most interesting and attractive about these jobs is earning a high wage. You aren't going to get paid a high wage if an AI can just do the most difficult parts for you or it removes the scarcity of your skills.

Don't worry, by the time AI have substitute developers, medics lawyers and engineers will also be in trouble.😂

Very true, I program video games using ai generated script no need to bother my self, basic knowledge is enough.

(quote) What Huang is doing is to deceive laymen to achieve the purpose of making money.

As a person who has been doing software for nearly 20 years, I can say very responsibly that the most important thing in making software is to understand the vague The requirements are not understood by the people who put forward the requirements.

Software engineers clarify them through repeated exchanges - there are bugs in the system, and often you cannot describe clearly what the bug is in a picture.

For example, I am What are the settings on interface A, what is done on interface B, how is interface C handled, and what problems arise - the maintenance of a system code is done by humans, unless the entire system is written by AI. Once humans want to intervene, People have to understand the content of the code.

This in itself is an irresolvable contradiction. AI can help you make the system good, but it will never be possible to create a maintainable system in a personalized way and communicate with people based on domain knowledge. It is something that requires people to intervene. This is what software engineers do. They are not just doing grammar.

Well if AI goes wrong as presumably A, I itself is code what will we do if no one e knows how to code?

If there are no programmers, there is no AI. He just don't want you to learn to code then build Company to compete with his company

Hmm, so if I tell AI service "please create a trading platform that can handle 4 million transactions per second", I will get the entire application in few seconds, right? Great

I have more love and respect for plankton than Nvidia's CEO jENSEN hWANG . Disclaimer: This is not hate speech as there is a possibility I love plankton more than he loves his own family.

AI/ML also requires basics of python??

However,if we dont learn and practice coding. Even if we implement a feature quickly, the code will be hard to maintain.

GARBAGE, HOW COULD YOU REPEAT SUCH NON SENSE!!!! WHEN YOU USE CHAT GPT TO
GENERATE A PROGRAM, ALL YOU GET IS A VERY SUPERFICIAL OUTLINE OF
A PROGRAM. 50% INCOMPLETE OR
THE OUTLINE(VERY BASIC PROGRAM) IS HELPFUL TO GET YOU STARTED, BUT
IN NO WAY IS IT A USABLE PROGRAM. YOU HAVE TO BE A VERY GOOD PROGRAMMER
TO FIX ANY AI SOFTWARE.

I want to understand why the nvidia ceo said that.. please make another vid about this i feel this vid is a bit defensive position.

I want to actually get in the nvidia ceo's brain. How can he be so confident that he said that in front of many people? Coz they are possibily knowing something we dont. Like the AI roadmap of creating agents and whatever.

Dont get me wrong. Its a good video but i didnt understood why he could say that with such confidence can we talk more about AI roadmap on what possibly they are seeing
