Would have loved to have seen a comparison with “properly” activated charcoal.

You could say, the lemon juice deactivated the charcoal

The bad science on YouTube is a menace, well done for challenging it.

Love how you had a call to action at the end and clearly made this partially out of concern for the effects of false information out there, great video :)

3:17 This was not an accident. No. This was the behavioral consequence of Buddy missing. It's called compensation by induced artificial clumsiness normally attributed to one very missed feline. I feel for you Cody.

Glad to see that Cody is back in action and uploading regularly!

Hey Cody! If you are reading this, there were some things you did wrong in the video. I work with activated carbon (AC) on a daily basis and I think you were trying to chemically activate the charcoal. First of all, chemical activation needs heat, at least 600ºC. Second, you should impregnate the charcoal with the reagents and then dry the mix for about 24h. After this step you use heat, with an inert atmosphere to prevent burning. All that is left to do is wash the AC with water until the pH is neutral. Although the quantities of activating agent seemed right you can try to change amounts used to find the optimum. Hope this helps.

Activated charcoal should pull out between 80 and 90 mg/g... You're welcome.

"maybe you think i make a fast one..." literaly nobody thinks something like that. Cody is the best.

Something tells me that "household chemicals" in your household is somewhat different from the average hosehold ;)

You should have tested like store Bought activated charcoal so that we can see that differences from the home treated stuff and stuff made in a lab or factory.

I'm shocked, the internet has false information.

Since the loss of Grant, your channel is one of only a very few that I can rely on for good chemistry and science content. Keep at it and please don't ever stop. Much love and respect.
