If you try to stop desiring you desire not to desire which itself is conflict and suffering. You can't fake not desiring. So there it is. Observe the feeling of desire.

I feel like this video puts people on the wrong foot. Desire is a byproduct of believing in your whole ego construct. It's not as if you should strive for no desire. Just work on unraveling your self construct and then eventually desire will just drop away.

Incorrect. I personally know someone who is stable in the first stages of Enlightenment, who wrote a book on ending desire, who had nerve damage in his back. He was in so much pain, while teaching enlightenment from enlightenment he was suicidal. Ramana, Nisargadatta and Ramakrishna died in pain. Adyashanti just got out of pain he has had since Enlightenment.

Desire to be free from desire keeps suffering alive. Peter Ralston desires to do these talks for he finds it pleasurable than sitting lonely at home without anyone getting to know about his greatness. Walk the talk, as they say. Unfortunately, no one sitting near him has the courage to question it but only has the courage to selfishly find the best teacher on planet Earth to obey. 🙂

One will not suffer if they die but then that is not the point. Life will not keep anyone "suffering free" just because they learned to suppress desire out of fear and pretend to be spiritual :)
