Very helpful. Thanks for illustrating this. It's a surprisingly complicated process; nice to see someone doing it in a video. Going to "Define name" rather than using the upper left Name Box -- so you can change the value of the formula to INDIRECT(original address here) -- was the tricky part, I thought.

Excel 2007 wont allow me to name both the cell and picture the same, how can I get around this issue?

i don't know how you set the same name to a cell and an image, but my excel isn't liking it.

Great job but i still have a little problem. I get an error message when i type my formula. =IF(A2=111, "p111e", IF(A2=112, "p112e", IF(A2=113, "p113e"))). Note that i have three pictures p111e, p112e, p113e and my cell value at A2 cell is a calculating value from other cells. Can you help me please?

Hi Greg, How would you do this if you are working with a spreadsheet.  Column A is an image; Colum B is a number. you have ten rows and you want the image to populate based on the number you place in column B on row 1-10.

can you do a tutorial on how to link the inserted image in different worksheet? then if you change the inserted image, all the images with the same image that linked to the inserted image will also change in different worksheet at the same time.

I'm trying something a little different and can't solve it. I have a column of images and I want to display them on a floating shape. It works with text. Example: I have a list of soccer players with positions and Jersy numbers. I can add a formula to populate the shape with names, positions and numbers. Those shapes float anywhere on the the spread sheet. When I try to do the same with the player's picture, the shape does not populate.

I'm trying to find a way to have 3 parameters in excel. This will be linked to Power Bi, and it will change the image according to the value. I know how to do it with 2 parameters (yes/no).

Hi Greg, would it be possible to make it dynamic by changing braintek.png to fairbanks.png. I would like to use it with filenames instead of manually inserting all files. I have thousands of image file and I don't want to load them into the excel spreadsheet. Thanks! :-)
