Here is the monitor that I personally use and I ♥️ it! It's right in the "sweet spot" (affiliate links):

For single player games 4k 60hz image quality beats down 1080p big time. i upgraded to 4k and man the sharpness, contrast and how the colors come together on this are way ahead of 1080p. However for esports you need FHD @ 165hz without a doubt.

While I agree with what you said, I d think it depends on the gamer, and the game they're playing. I have both a 4k 60hz HDR monitor for single player, and a 1080p 144hz for the multiplayer games i want to be buttery smooth.

Build your PC first, then your monitor.
Think of it this way, the PC is your job, the monitor is your Cocaine habit, build up your job, build up your income first, THEN you can call your dealer for the extra pure 4k cocaine.

Depnds on the game, A cinematic game like Skyrim, Witcher 3, Elden Rig, you slap that sucker on that 4k 60 with Max settings it's amazing, However it's not the best for competitive games where every fps matters

For AAA games 4k60fps, for esports 1080p. This guy assumes that eveyone plays esports titles and I don't. I'd rather take 4k 60fps since 4k is much better for school/work and AAA games look really good on them.

if they made 1440p 24 or 25 inch monitors i would get one straight away the problem is that they dont

Almost no one understands how resolution works. It’s all about screen size and distance to the screen. You pixel density must be small enough so you don’t see stepping lines from your usual distance. That’s why cinemas still mostly project at 2K. You won’t see more detail until you movie closer or you’re screen get larger. Also more detail won’t make the color and contrast better and won’t give you more detailed games unless you can crank up the settings to match.

I just bought my 1080p @ 144 Hz monitor because I've been feeling nauseous and headaches playing 4K @ 60 Hz. No more headaches.

1440 p is the best option for a monitor nowadays. Can still look gorgeous on most games and can still give you that high fps
