The 10 Most DANGEROUS Cities in New York

Holy crap! These are the places in New York that are CRAZY dangerous!

If you had paid attention on YouTube, you would have known to stay away from the subway. You would have known to just stay away from New York City entirely.

When you look at crime numbers, the northeast is totally safe. I mean it’s not perfect, and there’s druggies and thieves around every corner, but when it comes to violence, it’s not too bad actually. Look at this map. Every single other state in the northeast is blue. And blue is good. Yes, even New Jersey. But NY is about average. It’s far more dangerous in this state than anywhere else in the region.

Especially in the places we’ll talk about.

New York! There were 70,000 violent crimes in this state last year, which is just terrible. And crime in the state of New York is up by a whopping 45% year over year. Take into consideration the huge rise in crime, the crowds, the traffic and the cost of living, and it’s no wonder this is the state with the third highest number of refugees. In the last two years alone, more than 140,000 people have fled this state for good. People are just voting with their feet. Or their moving vans.

People don’t want to live here like they used to. I mean if you can do your job from home and not have to worry about getting robbed or beaten up, what’s the point of living here?

Of course, crime in the state of New York is down from its peak in the 1990s. That’s the case across the nation. Yes, believe it or don’t, but we’re actually much safer now than we were 30 years ago. But the violence is going back up again, and fast, mister.

In the cities we’re going to talk about, there are robberies in broad daylight, car jackings and daily shootings. There are crack heads breaking into homes and lots and lots of overdoses. There’s neighborhoods in most of these cities that you shouldn’t drive through, and certainly should be avoided after dark.

Special thanks to Michael Pena - who has the YouTube channel Neighborhood Guy for all the awesome footage of New York’s worst hoods. You should subscribe to Neighborhood Guy on YouTube. His channel is great!

As a NYC native! I’m so happy I left back in 2015! The crime here became outta control! I have people ask me… “Do you miss NYC?” My answer is always and will always be “Absolutely not!” NYC and NY state has become nothing but a “Liberal Cesspool”

Born and raised in NYC, I lived in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens before moving out of that hellhole. Moved to Arizona 2 years ago and I absolutely LOVE IT!!

My husband grew up in Brooklyn and he was an NYPD officer up until last year. We flee’d to Florida. The cops, their hands are tied. NYC is a crap hole.

Mind you in terms of raw numbers, crime is still way down. But channels like this love the propoganda. Well, I prefer things be not so bad, and everyone say its bad, than the other way around.

Niagars Falls NY is absolutely awful. I recall walking along the well-lit, well-kept, lively Canadian side one night and looking over the gorge to the NY side. It gave me the impression that this is what it must be like looking from South to North Korea.
Buffalo is pretty awful as well. I made the mistake of taking a job in the region and I left as soon as I could.

The apartment building I lived in near Columbia University was dangerous. One neighbor was beaten up by the plumber. Another was killed by the crack-addict security guard.

Rochester Mayor and her husband had there house searched by the city police. The search turned up drugs, money you name it. She ended up in big trouble but I'm not sure of what happened after that

NYC is not that bad. If you are streetwise and not lame you will not be a victim. Some people are born victims and unaware of what goes on in the street. But if you are not a born victim and avoid certain places you will be fine. I lived in NYC for 57 years and never had a problem nor was I ever a victim. I moved to Oakland CA. 8 years ago and its a lot more crazy.

First off....the responder in this clip is utterly and completely correct.
Like most that make a comment NYC has returned to being a shithole..!!
I'm born and raised in Bensonhurst. I worked almost all my life as a Police Officer with NYPD. I was stationed at the 32 Pct. In the middle 80's when we would average 2600 homicides a year.
It was the worst place on the entire planet to live and work.
When Giuliani was Mayor things became vastly better and remained like that for a very long time. But recently, within the last 3 or 4 years things are returning to there old ways. Crime is up and more important the people are rude and narcissistic. They don't care about others at all and crime, even the lesser crimes are in a abundance, with the Police unable to take any action at all.
When I go out and drive my car it's just a nightmare. Acts of any kindness are completely absent from life.
It has become a hideous city..!!
And now, a time to leave.
I'm moving to one of the mid cities near the north Dallas area. I have been there many times and it's actually what I've been looking for.
I wish all who are staying .... good luck
and God Bless, because you will need it..+

Manufacturing said goodbye and poverty said hello. Poverty brought it's best friend along - crime.

Hi Nick, New York is so complex to live here it has great possibilities but a lot of pitfalls and it's always difficult to navigate through those times and this is where you find out who and what you need to do and sometimes it may be too late. Overall it's an amazing city but only if you are really lucky to experience the wonderful things about it. I still believe if you have a chance to travel and see and experience other cities and places outside New York you gain a different perspective and it allows you to grow as a human being to make better choices.

Born and raised on long island and still live here (for now). Worked in NYC under mayors Koch, Dinkins, Giuliani, Bloomberg and de Blasio. I can tell you unequivocally the city was never safer than when Giuliani was mayor. Since then New York State's soft attitude on crime has brought the quality of life in New York City and Long Island significantly down.

we have become uncivil in many ways - I know this will sound like I'm an old coot (I am) but when I was young people dressed up to go out - the vibe was different and the level of respect among strangers was there. Today it's sweatpants and t-shirts everywhere ...the little things matter.

Im a NYC native and I totally agree with everything in this video. I follow you Nick mostly because I want to get out of here. I dislike this State, whether downstate or upstate, NY is NOT a good place to live. It’s expensive, dangerous and the quality of life is near to zero amigo. I’ve been to Staten Island, and is a smaller strip of land with more “livable” areas but with bad ones also; mostly suburban. Wanted to move there once, until hurricane Sandy which destroyed over 500 homes and over 20 deaths there. No thank you. Long Island, I lived there in Babylon, good and too quiet, and there’s this weird vibe. Certain areas in Long island are filling with the Mara Salvatrucha MS16 gang, so its getting bad out there as well.
