Actually London is the most dangerous city if you include corruption and money laundering as crimes. The problem is that 1 mugging counts as 1 crime, but stealing billions from the public purse so that hundreds of thousands of people can't get NHS treatment and die isn't even recorded as a crime. People get knighthoods and lordships for that level of crime.

I have been to Blackpool myself. It is a very deprived and run-down area – in fact, it's one of the poorest towns in the UK. Drug use and addiction is also widespread, violent crime has increased in recent years, and I have heard horror stories about rental accommodation in the town being filthy and infested with vermin. I have even described mental health issues that I have experienced by saying that "if my mind were a town, it would be Blackpool".

But even the most dangerous Blackpool postcodes are less dangerous than some areas of London.
