13 benefits that you may not know for children of veterans.

The helpless child benefit is a monthly compensation given in addition to your service-connected disability. Specifically, it is for those who have children who cannot be self-sufficient.

Because this is additional monthly compensation, one must meet certain criteria to qualify for the additional benefit. For one, the child must be a child of a Veteran. From there, the child must be 18 years or older, have been diagnosed with a physical or mental disability before the age of 18 that leaves them permanently disabled, and be currently disabled.

We will break down each part further, but these are the general qualifications. If the child of a Veteran does not meet one of these criteria, they will likely not qualify for helpless child benefits. (Barry Law Veterans Law Attorney).

Please let me know what concrete action the VA is doing to accomodate the sons and daughters of WWII Filipino Veterans in lieu of their late fathers for benefits?

I'm looking for information/ options.
My husband is an army vet. We live in CA, but we want to retire to AZ. My husband plans to retire from his job next year at 64. I still have 4 more years to retire.

Our plan is to buy a multifamily in AZ, live in one unit, and rent the other(s). We'll keep our CA house and rent it out. Can we buy multifamily family in AZ if my husband is retired? I know we have to live on the property for the VA home buying benefit. We talked about him living there while I work until I retire. I could probably leave my government job in CA and get something else in AZ, but at 62, I don't really want to do that. Any thoughts?

My 100% disabled dad recently passed away and never used his GI Bill. Unfortunately, I’m 38. Are there any scholarships, grants, or programs anyone knows I qualify for?

Good afternoon sir I'm the youngest daughter of a veteran who was before a soldier in time of japanese war but he didn't enjoy his benefits as a soldier because he was being AWOL on his duty and became a guerilla veteran and my mother before she died received the monthly pension of 5k per month. We as there children can also request assistance to the government?

My Father passed in 2004 due to cancer, but served in the Vietnam War. I'm looking to gain a PhD. My first loan was from my Masters degree. I'm looking for a possible scholarship.
