The poor suffer the most from the greed of the rich. What has DeSantis done to the poor or make affordable flood insurance to help the poor. Nothing. Florida is the 3rd largest economy in America and Florida/DeSantis won't spend a penny to save the most vulnerable who are hurting the most.

Nature is telling you to move out. No one will insure your stubbornness

Bills are starting to add up. Florida is expensive to maintain. Is Florida worth investing in? Considering the storms are to become more frequent and more intense.

Is there a limit to the number of times the rest of us have to chip in to rebuild the same parts of Florida?

Rick Scott is the reason our wind and flood insurance is SO EXPENSIVE. I live in a 840sq' town house in Florida. My wind and flood policy is $500 a month. That DOES NOT INCLUDE HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE

Now is the time to begin a long-term plan to move from low lying areas to somewhere (anywhere not low-lying) that is safer. Don't make yourselves victims.

So how much of the country's money are we wasting to rebuilding year after year in a clearly non-habitable area?

Stop rebuilding in Florida, at least no rebuilding within a mile from the beach. Insurance companies need to totally pull out of the state. Crazy to build houses on sand on a peninsula in a hurricane alley.

60 days? I think those/we that have been weather hit hard and/or in other ways and are still alive will need more than 60 days.

Why would insurance companies want to cover people? They would go out of business paying to rebuild all thise homes. Common sense people. Move out of hurricane zones and you wont lose your uour home every year.

It's all bad here in Lutz. I can't believe the devastation everywhere. Entire roads are flooded. ❣️🙏🏾🥺

Just wait until next year! I lost my home to a hurricane in Texas over forty years ago. Since I moved to Alaska I have watched all of my immediate family members also lose homes to hurricanes in Texas. I saw this coming and moved to a safer place. I imagine many folks are now waking up to the fact that they have been deceived by conservatives and oil companies for decades and now are confronted with the reality and consequences of climate change. Move to higher ground folks!

Not just Southwest Florida but Northeast, Florida as well. Daytona Beach/ Volusia county is still under water as well.

I am afraid the solution in the future will be to abandon large areas of coastline. Even far inland areas are not safe from hurricanes.

They can live there and rebuild but they have to build better with stronger materials and raised structures and with better building codes

What about the Pinellas county jail. They did not get evacuated and it's look like nobody care about the inmates and employees . That jail violate all the inmates right possible and it is not place where to complain because nobody will even answer you in a sense way.

Our Legislature is in the pockets of Insurance Companies here in Florida.
